Girls soccer: Blomquist, Slattery sisters help Elk Grove to MSL East win

Elk Grove 3, Rolling Meadows 1: Zoe Blomquist scored twice, both times with assists from Kelly Walter, to help the Grenadiers to a Mid-Suburban League girls soccer victory Friday.

On the other Elk Grove goal, sophomore Emma Slattery assisted senior sister Cassie Slattery.

Natalie Anderson had a goal for Rolling Meadows.

Buffalo Grove 8, Wheeling 0: Kaylee Gerhardt and Aaliyah Rocha both scored twice and Danielle Hausfeld had 1 goal and 1 assist to help the Bison earn a shutout victory for keeper Zugey Olvera.

Conant 3, St. Viator 0: Brittany Laskero, Stephanie Mazurek and Gianna Angiulo scored for Conant and Kaylin Feeley, Emily Mazurek and Jessica Smeltzer had assists as the Cougars picked up a nonconference win.

at Prospect: The Knights won their first matchup in the tournament they're hosting, claiming a 2-0 victory over McHenry behind a pair of second-half goals from Aly Kobler.

Prospect will face Wauwatosa East, a 1-0 winner over University High, in an 8 a.m. Saturday semifinal. Lake Zurich and Champaign Central also won their first games.

Ella Marzolf and Shawna Stokes had assists on Kobler's goals, and keeper Mehgan Rickett and Madden McDonnell shared in the shutout.
