Highwood's The Silk Thumb Showcased on HGTV's Smart Home 2016
HIGHWOOD, IL (APRIL 2016) - Julie Brugioni, owner of The Silk Thumb, a North Shore favorite silk floral destination for over three decades, is proud to announce she was chosen to as the floral designer for the 2016 HGTV Smart Home. Brugioni's everlasting silk plant plants, trees and floral creations adorn the $1.2 million dollar, 3,300 square foot smart home in Raleigh, North Carolina. After working on several successful projects together, Brugioni was invited by Chicagoan and HGTV star, Tiffany Brooks, to compliment her interior design throughout the home. Without hesitation, Brugioni enthusiastically accepted the challenge and designed over 25 arrangements for the home.
This high-tech home is fully furnished and will be awarded in July to a lucky winner. The interior design and décor is described as both "bold" and "cozy" and Brugioni's silk arrangements pop in every spot they are placed throughout. From the welcoming ferns flanking the doorway, to plants in every room providing a fresh splash of color among the amazing décor provided, Highwood's The Silk Thumb made its mark!
"I love working with Julie because she's passionate about her craft," says Brooks. "Whenever I use silk plants in my design work, I call on Julie. Her product is so regal and the quality of her work is unmatched."
After accepting the offer in November 2015, Brugioni spent two months creating her vision. "In January 2016 I flew out to Raleigh to install our silk plants, flowers and trees throughout the home including both the large covered porch and screened in porch," said Brugioni. "Tiffany's décor is awe-inspiring and I was honored to compliment it with our designs."
