In nonconference play Thursday, Palatine's baseball team rallied to tie it with 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning before winning it 8-7 by scoring another run against visiting Jacobs in the eighth.
Danny Amato scored the winning run in the nonconference matchup on a wild pitch.
In the seventh, the Pirates tied it on an RBI single by Zach Oles and a fielder's choice. Oles finished with 3 hits and 2 RBI.
Danny Schneberger hit a homer and drove in 3 runs, and Charlie Van Dyke finished 2-for-4 with a double,
Palatine trailed 5-3 after the fourth inning but scored at least 1 run in each of its final four at-bats.
Sophomore reliever Evan Daly allowed 2 unearned runs over the final 4 innings for Palatine (9-7) to pick up his first varsity victory. He allowed 3 hits, 2 walks and struck out one.
