Medline to donate portion of sales to firefighters group

MUNDELEIN - Medical equipment supplier Medline announced it will donate a portion of its sale of medical gloves designed specifically for emergency first responders to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

The company will donate 50 cents for every case of Critical Response gloves sold through the end of September to help honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities and neighborhoods.

"The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is very pleased to have this new partnership with Medline and appreciate their support of the Foundation's mission," said Chief Ron Siarnicki, executive director of the NFFF. "Medline's generous donation will help us provide assistance to the survivors of the fallen and resources to the fire service."

The highly visible, bright orange Critical Response glove is designed to allow for greater sensitivity in the fingers and is considerably thicker than traditional gloves in the palm and cuff. That makes it easier to work with things like sweat, blood, mud and other elements. In addition, the glove is approved by the National Fire Protection Agency and exceeds the FDA requirements for pinhole deficiencies which contributes to the higher quality, strength, barrier integrity and durability of the glove and helps EMTs stay protected in the field.

"When it comes to those who care for patients, we are committed to helping them perform at their very best. Working in the field is very different from an exam room or doctor's office and that's why we created this new glove with the first responder in mind," said Paul Lishnevsky, exam gloves division president, Medline.
