The Fremd boys water polo team clinched a tie for the Mid-Suburban West title by beating Schaumburg 17-7 on Wednesday.
The Vikings improved to 18-4 overall and 8-1 in the league.
Fremd will complete its MSL West slate with a game at Hoffman Estates on Monday.
Barrington, 1 game behind in the league standings at 7-2, has its West finale at home against Schaumburg (5-16, 2-7).
Wheeling 12, Hersey 3: The Wildcats moved back into first place in the Mid-Suburban East with a victory over the host Huskies.
Wheeling (16-8, 8-1) still needs a victory over visiting Buffalo Grove at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the East finale for both teams to win an outright divisional championship.
Buffalo Grove (13-9-1, 7-1-1) was tied by Rolling Meadows 6-6 on Tuesday.
In the first meeting between Wheeling and Buffalo Grove this season, the Wildcats won 16-8 at Buffalo Grove.
Barrington 12, Palatine 9: John Fischer (5 goals) and Mitch Gavars (4) led the way in scoring for the host Broncos, who jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never trailed while improving to 17-3 overall and 7-2 in the MSL West.
Barrington is in second place in the West, trailing Fremd with one game left.
Top scorers for the Pirates (6-12, 4-5) were Ivan Turkan (3) and Dylan White, T.J. May and Marcus Carter-Buckman with 2 apiece. Jake Conrad stopped 12 shots in goal.
Conant 18, Hoffman Estates 2: The Cougars improved to 9-8 overall and 6-3 in the West and hold the third-place spot in the divisional standings.
