Join in VolunteerPalooza on Saturday

In honor of National Volunteer Month, the Elgin Volunteer Coordinator Network is hosting VolunteerPalooza on Saturday, April 23, at The Centre of Elgin Heritage Ballroom, 100 Symphony Way. The free volunteer fair runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

People of all ages are invited to attend and learn about ways to volunteer in the community. Dozens of local organizations, including social service agencies, educational institutions, civic groups and service clubs will be on hand to help people find the right volunteer opportunity to suit their interests. The event also will feature live entertainment and food trucks.

The Elgin Volunteer Coordinator Network is an informal networking group made up of volunteer coordinators from area agencies, schools, and other nonprofit organizations. The group meets regularly to share ideas and discuss challenges and opportunities they are experiencing in the recruitment, management and retention of volunteers. As a Cities of Service Member, it works to promote and aid volunteer efforts in the community.
