Baseball: Wheaton North, Glenbard East, West Chicago win

Wheaton North 7, WW South 6:

The Falcons (9-4, 5-1) swept the cross-town DuPage Valley Conference series after scoring 3 runs in the fourth inning and 4 runs in the fifth. Casey Becker went 2-for-4 and Ryan Kocher went 2-for-2 with 3 RBI. Winning pitcher Sam Lawrence struck out 10 in 6 innings. Zach Colangelo earned the save. Jordan Coakley and Jack Zuback had 2 hits apiece for WW South (5-7, 3-6).

Glenbard East 7, West Aurora 5:

The Rams (10-5, 1-0) scored twice in the top of the ninth inning to win in the Upstate Eight Valley Conference. Michael Sebby drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly. Ryan Schefske, the winning pitcher in relief of Sebby, had 2 hits.

West Chicago 4, Bartlett 3:

The Wildcats (3-8, 1-1) rallied to victory in the Upstate Eight victory by scoring 3 runs in the fifth inning. Rob Szulczewski went 3-for-3 in support of complete-game winning pitcher Garrett Hosticka.

St. Francis 10, Benet 7:

The Spartans (14-1) broke a 6-6 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning by scoring 4 runs. Brett Whelton went 2-for-3 with a homer and 2 RBI. Will Purdom drove in 3 runs. J.P. Clifford was the complete-game winning pitcher. C.J. Birck doubled, homered and drove in 2 runs for Benet (5-8).

Naperville Central 3, Glenbard North 2:

The Redhawks (13-4, 7-2), who had only 2 hits, scored all their runs in the top of the fourth inning to take two of three in the DuPage Valley Conference series. Jack Hughes had one of the hits and an RBI. Charlie Walzer and Liam Heath combined on the mound. Zach Heck went 3-for-3 for Glenbard North (4-12, 2-7).

Wheaton Academy 3, Glenbard South 0:

Kellen Mitchell pitched a 4-hitter with 3 strikeouts and a walk for the Warriors (7-7, 3-2) in their Metro Suburban West victory. R.W. Rienow went 2-for-4.

IC Catholic Prep 1, Riverside-Brookfield 0:

Joey Salvi drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning for the Knights (13-8, 7-5) in the Metro Suburban West win. Austin Reed was the winning pitcher.

Lake Park 5, Hoffman Estates 4:

Colin Fowich had 3 RBI and Joe Amore went 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored in the nonconference win for the Lancers (9-3). A.J. Ackerley was the winning pitcher in relief and Fowich notched the save.

Montini 3, Marian Catholic 2:

The Broncos (11-5) won in the bottom of the seventh on Jake Rosley's RBI single. Rosley also won in relief of starter Bruno Bodnum.

Timothy Christian 4, Illiana Christian 2:

Complete-game winning pitcher Carter Johnson struck out 9 and homered at the plate for the Trojans (9-5, 6-2), who won the Metro Suburban East game in eight innings. Josh Anderson went 3-for-4.
