Community garden volunteers welcome in Fremont Twp.

Fremont Township is seeking volunteers to work in the community garden next to the main facility at 22385 W. Route 60, Mundelein. Hours are 9 a.m. until noon, Tuesdays and Sundays, but there are other tasks for anyone who wants to help. The garden provides fresh produce to low-income seniors and food pantry recipients and is source of sustainably grown, organic produce, featuring many uncommon and heirloom varieties of vegetables, such as artichokes, rutabagas, kale, rainbow chard and heirloom tomatoes, as well as more common varieties.
