More room to groom at LITH Pet Supplies Plus

There now is more room to pamper your pooches and clean your muddy mutts along the Randall Road corridor.

The Pet Supplies Plus store along Randall Road in Lake in the Hills reopened this week, showcasing a new expanded grooming area.

The store at 132 Randall Road closed for two weeks, as crews changed the layout of the grooming area, and made room to accommodate more pets.

As part of the expansion, the store went from a four -table capacity in the grooming salon to having room for six tables, said Liz Triplett, the director of grooming services for Pet Supplies Plus of Chicagoland.

The new expansion and layout also allows pet owners to watch their beloved pets get clipped, cut and spiffed up at the salon.

"We also changed the layout and added windows so neighbors can view the groomers more easily," Triplett said.

The remainder of the store and self-wash area at Pet Supplies Plus stayed the same during the closure.

The expansion focused on the grooming salon because the amount of business at the store along the Randall Road corridor exceeded the amount of space they had in that area, Triplett said.

She said the grooming salon's de-shed and spa packages, as well as discount nail trims and nail grindings on certain days of the week, were popular, which is why the business decided to make room for more furry clients to be serviced at a time.

"There will be room for more associates to service more pets," Triplett said.

"We are looking forward to accommodating more pets, especially on the weekends, as well as further enhancing the working environment of our associates during our rapid growth."

Family night:

It can get hard to have everyone in the family sit down together on busy weeknights for dinner.

Instead of Tacos Tuesdays for families, the Chick-fil-A in Batavia offers a different family dining option in hopes of encouraging families to dine together, and in their Randall Road chicken restaurant on Tuesdays.

Nearly every Tuesday night, the business at 185 N. Randall Road hosts a family night from 5 to 7 p.m. Often, there are different happenings at family night.

For example, it was a dream come true for many fairy tale lovers last month as Princess Anna and Elsa made an appearance at the family night event.

On some Tuesday nights, you are likely to find face painting at the restaurant for the kids.

This coming Tuesday, April 26, the restaurant will host a music makers night from 5 to 7 p.m. at part of Family Night.

Patrons can make their own musical instruments at the event. You also will get a chance to watch and listen to demonstrations by local musicians.

For information. call the restaurant at (630) 761-2640.
