Benedictine University honors 14 alumni for leadership, innovation, philanthropy

Benedictine University honored 14 alumni for their contributions to their communities through their leadership and philanthropy.

The alumni were named to the University's Who's Who Among Benedictine University Alumni and recognized at a dinner and awards presentation April 9 at the Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort.

Four alumni were presented Visionary awards, which recognize alumni who have reached the pinnacle of their careers and have made a significant impact on the world around them through leadership and philanthropy. The Rising Star award was presented to 10 alumni who graduated less than 25 years ago, have made considerable strides in their careers and have shown dedication to philanthropic endeavors.

Those honored were:

Christos M. Linardakis, J.D., LL.M., of Hinsdale, a 1988 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in International Business and Economics, was among those honored as a Visionary.

Suzet M. McKinney, Dr.P.H., of Chicago, a 2001 graduate of Benedictine University with a master's degree in Public Health, was among those honored as a Visionary.

Donald B. Pope-Davis, Ph.D., of Las Cruces, N.M., a 1976 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, was among those honored as a Visionary.

Richard R. Vondrak, Ph.D., of Glen Dale, M.d., a 1965 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Physics, was among those honored as a Visionary.

Sanem (Tezcan) D'Angelo, of Elmwood Park, a 2001 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

MaryAnhthu T. Do, D.O., of Oak Brook, a 1994 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Biology, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

Lisa Eaton Wright, of Lemont, a 2010 and 2008 graduate of Benedictine University with a master's degree in Nutrition and Wellness and a bachelor's degree in Nutrition, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

James J. Fedinec, M.D., of Darien, a 1992 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Biology, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

Khizar Jafri, of Wheaton, a 2010 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in International Business and Economics, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

Alex Johnson, of Chicago, a 2001 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Marketing, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

Carrie A. Johnson, of Washington, D.C., a 1994 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Literature and Communication, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

Erik L. Johnson, M.D., of Wheaton, a 1991 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

Nick LoGalbo, of Chicago, a 2005 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, was among those honored as a Rising Star.

Gregory J. Wolcott, of Oswego, a 1993 graduate of Benedictine University with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, was amont those honored as a Rising Star.
