Motorcyclist seriously injured in Lake County crash

A motorcyclist seriously injured in a crash Sunday evening in unincorporated Lake County was taken to a hospital by helicopter, fire officials said.

About 6:50 p.m., crews from the Cary Fire Protection District responded to Fox River Road, just east of Hickory Nut Grove Road, for a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, Lt. Michael Douglass said. The cause of the crash is unknown.

The unidentified motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, Douglass said, and the severity of his injuries is unknown. Flight for Life took him to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in serious condition.
