Baseball: Sullivan's powerful display lifts St. Viator
Dan Sullivan homered, doubled and finished 3-for-4 at the plate to help St. Viator's baseball team pick up an 8-1 victory over Grayslake Central on Thursday in nonconference play.
Cole Kmet and Brett DeSelm both drove in a pair of runs, and Kevin Napoleon earned a victory in relief as the Lions (9-4) scored 7 runs over the final two innings.
Glenbard East 6, Elk Grove 4: The host Grenadiers out-hit the Rams 9-6 but also committed 4 errors in slipping to 5-5-1 after a nonconference loss.
A.J. Lorenz had 3 hits for the Grens and Chuck Fleming doubled in a 2-for-4 effort at the plate for Elk Grove.
Jacobs 7, Barrington 5: The visiting Golden Eagles rallied for 3 runs in the seventh inning to pluck a nonconference decision away from the Broncos.
Barrington (9-3) had four players with 2 hits apiece - Tristan Michaels, Patrick Dehnert, Jacob Chapman and Zach Balogh.
Conant 14, Bartlett 8: The visiting Cougars (4-7) pounded out 17 hits, and Jimmy Brady led the way with a homer, a pair of doubles, 4 RBI and 4 runs scored.
Logan Smith also had 3 hits while Jack Lunkes, Jimmy Roberts and Jim McLaughlin had 2 apiece.
Christian Liberty 4, Harvest Christian 3: The host Chargers rallied with 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a Northeastern Athletic Conference victory.
Mark Cabrera tied it with a long single, and Jimmy Cunningham drove in the winning run. Chargers starter Aiden Miller improved to 2-0 by tossing a complete game.
Glenbrook South 8, Maine West 7: The visiting Warriors tied up their Central Suburban League crossover with a run in the top of the seventh before the Titans won it with one of their own in the bottom half.
Maine West (3-7) was limited to 4 hits but took advantage of 5 errors by Glenbrook South.
Alex Zimmerman drove in 2 runs for the Warriors.
