A Shakespeare musical comedy

"The People vs. Friar Laurence: The Man Who Killed Romeo and Juliet," a musical comedy will close this weekend with performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the PM&L Theatre, 877 N. Main St., Antioch. The play is a rework of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" told through the eyes of Friar Laurence the mastermind behind the timeless lovers' star-crossed fatal moments. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and students and are available online at www.pmltheatre.com. Call (847) 395-3055 to reserve tickets. The box office is open from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and 90 minutes before curtain on show dates.
