Bartlett Library celebrates National Library Week

Visitors of the Bartlett Library during National Library Week (April 10-16) will be able to participate in a "Clue"-game based scavenger hunt.

Patrons will have to decipher clues in order to find the classic pieces at various locations within the Bartlett Library. Each day a new clue and piece will be brought forward for patrons to find, and attached to each piece is a number. Patrons will have to take that number and use a code to decipher a hidden word that will be spelled out if they find each of the pieces. When all the pieces have been found by the end of the week, the patrons who have deciphered the hidden word will be put into a raffle for a grand prize.

Two lucky winners will receive two vouchers each for the 20-minute escape room at Challenge Accepted, located at the Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale.

To wrap up the week, the Bartlett Library will be putting on a Murder Mystery Night hosted by Over the Rainbow Productions on Friday, April 15 from 6:30-9 p.m. So, patrons can get their swing on at the roaring 20s-themed murder mystery where they can eat, mingle and have a good time. There will be various prizes awarded during the night, such as a wine tasting at Lynfred Winery, a voucher for two to the 20-minute escape room at Challenge Accepted and a mystery-themed basket filled with countless goodies.

First 40 willing participants will receive character roles, which will be handed out the night of the event. Additional attendees can participate without playing a character. Costumes are suggested to help create the 20s atmosphere, but are not required. Event is free for all participants. This is an Adult event, so ages 18 and up.

Another upcoming Adult program at the Bartlett Library is "Get Your Fiction Up and Running" on Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m. Don't know where to start your short story or novel? Have a draft but would like more pizzazz on your first page? This fiction writing workshop will help you learn ways to grab and keep your readers' attention. For writers 18 and older.
