Come to 'Big Band' Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church April 24

Eighth annual Big Band Sunday, 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 24

Submitted by Thomas Weaver

On Sunday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m., Big Band Swing returns to Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Prospect. The service will feature a 17-piece "big band" of Trinity members and other local musicians.

According to band leader Thomas Weaver, the musical offerings will combine sacred tunes and texts and congregational singing with the Swing beat of the Big Band era of the 1930s and 1940s.

The congregation will be led in worship by Reverend, Colleen M. Norman, pastor. The Chancel Choir, led by music director Tyrone H. Mitchell, Sr., will also provide music. A freewill offering is received as part of worship.

Trinity United Methodist Church is located in Mount Prospect at 605 W. Golf Road, between Busse and Elmhurst Roads. Free parking, nursery care, and Sunday School are available.
