Addison molester sentenced to 15 years in prison
A 33-year-old Addison man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse and predatory criminal sexual assault for having inappropriate sexual contact with two minor female relatives.
DuPage County Judge Robert Miller handed down the sentence after accepting the guilty plea from Martin Villanueva. Villanueva will be required to serve 10½ years before being eligible for parole and will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
Authorities said Villanueva had sexual contact with the two girls on multiple occasions from August 2006 through June 2008 and from August 2010 through July 2011. The abuse was uncovered as part of an investigation by Addison police and the DuPage County Children's Center.
Villanueva was arrested last June and has been held on $750,000 bail in DuPage County jail.
"These two girls were living a nightmare at the hands of a trusted family member," DuPage State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a written statement. "It is my sincerest hope that they will be able to fully recover from the physical and emotional harm that Mr. Villanueva has inflicted upon them."
