Nebraska lineman Greg McMullen on leave to address academics

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska defensive lineman Greg McMullen is taking a leave of absence from spring practice.

Coach Mike Riley said Saturday that McMullen is out indefinitely to address matters related to graduating this spring and getting into grad school.

McMullen will be entering his fifth season in the program this fall. He started all 26 games the past two seasons. He's been working at tackle this spring after playing mostly defensive end.

Riley said he planned to speak with McMullen in the coming week to get an update on his status. The team's spring game is next Saturday.
