Bartlett wins twice at St. Louis Classic

Bartlett's girls soccer team came back from a 1-0 loss on Friday to win twice Saturday at the St. Louis Soccer Classic. The Hawks downed Helias of Jefferson City, Mo., 3-1 and then beat Cor Jesu Academy of St. Louis 1-0.

In the win over Helias, Shelley Lyjak, Kaitlin Brohan and Jenna Dombrowski scored Bartlett's goals while Mariela Alba had 2 assists and Makenna Hughes added one. Teagan Noesen made 5 saves in goal.

Brohan scored Bartlett's goal in the win over Cor Jesu off an assist from Alba. Noesen had 14 saves in net for the Hawks (7-3-1).

Elgin 3, Lake Park 2: In the first round of the PepsiCo Showdown, Brenda Acuna, Melissa Galarza and Hannah Erickson scored Elgin's goals. Erickson also made 9 saves in goal for the Maroons (2-3).

St. Charles North 2, York 1: Also at the PepsiCo, Gia Wahlberg and Hailey Rydberg scored goals for the North Stars (6-1) and Sami Sample made 1 save in goal.

ACC falls twice: At the Byron tournament, Aurora Central Catholic (3-4) fell to North Boone 2-1 in PKs and then lost to Byron 1-0 and Genoa-Kingston 2-0. Mary Canning had the Chargers' goal against North Boone.

Minooka 4, Burlington Central 3: Also at the PepsiCo, Jordan King, Elizabeth Gousios and Megan Majewski scored goals for the Rockets (5-3). Erin Rafferty had 6 saves in goal and Abbi Ciganek made 4 saves.

Wheaton North 3, Streamwood 1: Michaela Gundersen scored Streamwood's goal in this PepsiCo loss.

Fenwick 2, Dundee-Crown 1 (OT): Emmie Hilton scored the Chargers' goal and Taylor Gonio had 6 saves for D-C at the PepsiCo.

Huntley 2, Wheaton Academy 0: Bri Wilder scored both goals and Paige Renkosik had 3 saves in the net for Huntley (6-1-1) in its win at the PepsiCo tournament.

Highland Park 2, South Elgin 1: In yet another PepsiCo game, Kristen Schill scored the lone goal for South Elgin (2-6).

Evanston 3, CL South 0: Annika Sevcik had 6 saves for Crystal Lake South (6-2) in this loss at the PepsiCo tournament.
