Boys volleyball: Buffalo Grove wins Rolling Meadows' tourney

Mid-Suburban East boys volleyball co-leader Buffalo Grove came up with a dominant performance in Saturday's invitational hosted by Rolling Meadows.

The Bison won all five matches, needing just two sets in all but one of the decisions.

Buffalo Grove topped St. Charles North, Fremd, Rolling Meadows and St. Viator in two sets, and came back for a 22-25, 25-20, 15-6 victory over Addison Trail.

Leading the attack for BG were Zach Schnittker (33 kills), Chris Tsourmas (24), Brian Lynch (22), Daniel Rogowski (18) and Ian VanWazer and Ryan Horvath (16 kills each).

Greg Schneider served 44-for-46 with 4 aces, and Blake Maley was 56-for-57 with 3 aces. Lynch also had 4 aces.

Maley was 46-for-49 passing, and Schnittker totaled 101 assists.

St. Viator finished 3-2 along with St. Charles North. The Lions were awarded second place based on their 27-26, 25-7 victory over the North Stars.

Fremd and the host Mustangs both finished 2-3; the Vikings topped Meadows in a three-setter.
