2 adults, 2 juveniles arrested in Beach Park burglary
Two adults and two juveniles have been charged in a Beach Park burglary after a Lake County sheriff's deputy on patrol Thursday observed a vehicle in the area of Wednesday's burglary which matched the description of the vehicle involved, police said in a news release Saturday.
Burglars had entered a residence in the 10500 block of Marc Court by forcing a rear door and window, taking electronics and jewelry.
In a canvass of the neighborhood, sheriff's deputies identified a vehicle that might have been involved. The sheriff's deputy who spotted the suspect vehicle conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and located items in the vehicle which had been stolen during the residential burglary, police said. All five occupants in the vehicle were taken to the station for questioning, after which four were charged:
• Chanybien McMillon, 20, of the 2300 block of North Jackson Street, Waukegan, charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property.
• Javonatee W. Friar, 18, of the 1300 block of Joanna Avenue, Zion, charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property.
• A 17-year-old male juvenile, petitioned to juvenile court on residential burglary and criminal damage to property.
• A 15-year-old male juvenile, petitioned to juvenile court on residential burglary, obstructing justice and criminal damage to property.
The juveniles were taken to Hulse Juvenile Detention Center for a hearing, while Friar and McMillon were being held Saturday in the Lake County jail, with bail set at $30,000. They are scheduled to appear in court on April 12.
