Rolling Meadows man charged with sexually abusing teenage girl

A Rolling Meadows man who authorities say sexually abused a teenage girl with special needs was ordered held on $1 million bail Thursday.

Pablo Herrera, 35, was charged with the aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a teenage girl, now 17, who prosecutors say has learning disabilities. The girl, who became pregnant and delivered a baby, identified Herrera in a photo lineup, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Alyssa Grissom.

Authorities said the abuse went on for more than a year. DNA tests to determine the baby's paternity are not yet complete, said Grissom.

Herrera has no criminal background. He next appears in court April 28.
