Vernon Hills police, along with the Lake County Health Department, will host a pet vaccination and microchip clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 23, at the village's public works facility, 490 Greenleaf Drive. The microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is implanted under the pet's skin and does not hurt the animal. Cost is $15 per pet, cash only. The pet will be registered with the Lake County Animal Care and Control program. Added services are available from the chip provider for a fee. All animals must be at least 4 months old. Cats must be in a carrier and dogs must be leashed. Visit vhpd.com or call Community Service Officer Lon Paulausky at (847) 362-4449.
