Waubonsie Valley, Naperville Central get wins

Waubonsie Valley 4, Downers North 2:

The Warriors (5-1) broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning when Nick Price tripled home the go-ahead run and Quinton Zielke added a sacrifice fly. Winning pitcher Jason Neville struck out six over four innings. Will Isdell, who drove in 2 runs, closed it out with three scoreless innings.

Naperville Central 5, Glenbard East 4:

In O'Fallon, the Redhawks (5-1) rallied from a 3-0 deficit by scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the second and 2 runs in the third. Kyle Bennington went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. Mike Mlotek pitched 4 innings to earn the win. Michael Sebby homered and drove in 2 runs for Glenbard East (4-3). Naperville Central also beat O'Fallon 4-1 behind 2 hits and 2 RBI by Jack Hughes. Connor Gurnik added 2 hits in support of winning pitcher Ryan Eiermann, who struck out five in four innings. Tyler Brinker notched the save.

IC Catholic Prep 3, St. Viator 2:

C.J. West was the complete-game winning pitcher for the Knights (6-5), striking out four and scattering 7 hits. Trey Morris and Jose Rodriguez each had 2 hits.

Neuqua Valley 11, Covington, Ind. 1:

The Wildcats (2-1) rolled in five innings in Memphis, bursting to a 10-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Kevin Ringlein went 3-for-4 while Will Drake tripled and drove in 3 runs. James Gargano and Eric Nelson had 2 hits apiece. James Kulak and Ricky Castro combined on the mound.
