Shred your personal documents at Algonquin Commons

As you're doing your spring cleaning, you might want to gather those old, outdated documents you no longer need and bring them to the Randall Road corridor this weekend.

Algonquin Commons is hosting a Shred Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2. Instead of just throwing the old papers in the recycling bin, trying to rip them to pieces by hand or clogging up your tiny shredder, you can shred them into the tiniest of pieces for free at the Randall Road mall in giant shredders

The mall is inviting everyone to the event, allowing each person to bring two boxes full of the documents to shred. Mall officials say you can help protect yourself against identity theft by bringing documents you no longer need that contain personal information such as your social security number and records such as tax documents, medical records, credit card offers, old bills and receipts.

Before bringing your papers in, mall officials are asking you to remove any binding, including binder clips, from the papers.
