Riverside Foundation's 'Hearts of Gold' gala a success

On Saturday, Feb. 27, Riverside Foundation celebrated its 40th anniversary at its annual "Hearts of Gold" gala at Marriott's Lincolnshire Resort.

The special event benefits Riverside, a not-for-profit social service agency that provides quality services and care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at its residential locations in Lincolnshire, Gurnee and Grayslake, and its work and activity center in Vernon Hills.

The black-tie optional evening, hosted by the Riverside Foundation Women's Board and co-chaired by Peggy Gaier and Rana Doney of Lincolnshire, welcomed more than 220 guests. It featured cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, silent and live auctions, music by Maggie Speaks and dancing.

Leslie Munger was honored with Riverside's Distinguished Service Award for her many years of support of Riverside Foundation as an active member and president of the Women's Board, board of directors member, and 2013 Volunteer of the Year.

Former and current members of Riverside Foundation Women's Board were honored with Riverside's 40th Anniversary Ruby Award for their support, volunteer activities, contributions and fundraising events that have enhanced the lives of Riverside residents.
