Barrington's a hit against Pennsylvania opponent

Barrington's baseball team improved to 3-0 this spring by handling Upper Perkiomen from Pennsburg, Penn., 12-4 on Wednesday in Cocoa, Fla.

It was a 6-3 game heading into the top of the seventh inning, when the Broncos broke it open with another 6 runs.

Patrick Dehnert doubled twice, finishing 3-for-5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Blake Swanson went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and a double, and Tristan Michaels tripled and drove in 4 runs while finishing 2-for-4.

Ryan Loutos picked up the victory, striking out six and allowing 6 hits in his 5⅓ innings.

Christian Liberty splits: The Chargers split a pair of the road against Crossroads Academy, claiming a 7-6 victory in the first game before suffering an 11-7 setback in the second.

Aiden Miller earned the win in first game as Peter Grob and Chris Hoffman had doubles in Christian Liberty's 8-hit effort.

Ashland (Ore.) 5, St. Viator 2: Jack Coney had a pair of hits in the Lions' contest in Greenway, Ariz., but that was half his team's total as St. Viator slipped to 3-1 this season.

Ashland produced 10 hits as St. Viator starter Tony Nagle took the loss.

Tappan Zee (N.Y.) 10, Buffalo Grove 9: The Bison slipped to 1-2 despite a nice offensive effort against their opponent from Orangeburg, N.Y. in Gulf Shores, Ala.

John Carpinelli doubled twice, finishing 2-for-3 with a walk and 2 RBI, to lead the way for BG.

Joey Pinakidis walked three times from the leadoff spot and scored 3 runs, and Leo Rule scored twice from the No. 2 spot after going 1-for-2 with 2 walks and 2 RBI.

Jack Churchill drove in a run and stole 2 bases.

Cooper Hays suffered the loss, and Rio Komatani pitched 3 scoreless relief innings.

Grant 10, Mundelein 7: Sam Fernandez pitched 5 scoreless innings in relief, and Ben Kusiak was 3-for-3 with a home run, as Grant's baseball team rallied to beat Mundelein 10-7 at Rent One Park in downstate Marion on Wednesday.
