St. Anne science students score at regionals, 2 go on to state

Twelve seventh grade students from Saint Anne Parish School, Barrington, qualified to compete at the Science Fair Regionals held March 5 at Niles North High School.

The seventh-graders were Jackie Albrecht, Sam Carens, Colin Carroll, Olek Drobek, Morgan Green, Ryan Koehler, Destiny Mouawad, Michael Nobregas, Gabbie Papeo, Morgan Peters, Jackie Smith and Madison Wrzos.

The Saint Anne regional results are as follows:

Colin Carroll was nominated to compete in the Broadcom Masters. The Broadcom Masters is a program of society for science and the public in recognition of outstanding performance at a society-affiliated science fair in 2016 and as a top science fair project in the nation.

The following students received a Gold Award and are state qualifiers for the May competition at Millikin University in Decatur: Colin Carroll and Morgan Peters.

The following student received a Gold Award and is a state alternative: Destiny Mouawad.

The following students received a Gold Award: Ryan Koehler, Gabbie Papeo.

The following students received a Silver Award: Jackie Albrecht, Michael Nobregas and Madison Wrzos.
