Bartlett Library patrons learn the ins and outs of Etsy

On March 19, 21 Bartlett Library patrons that have been dreaming of selling crafts on Etsy joined Etsy artist and seller Katie Smith of MiddleCoast to discover the basics of opening and running an Etsy shop.

Within the presentation, patrons learned about navigating Etsy, branding, marketing and photography, which are all tools that will all help them run a successful Etsy shop.

Adult Services Librarian Carrie Straka originally put the program together.

"This is a great program to put on because more and more people are interested in online selling," Straka said. "This program is a good way to introduce people to the world of Etsy."

Once Smith finished her presentation, she opened the floor up for any questions that the audience might have had. Some asked about using different social media accounts with Etsy and others asked about getting notifications from their shop. Smith was able to answer all of their questions, and told them that she would be available at the Bartlett Library if they needed help with starting up their own shop, or if they had any more questions.

The next Adult program at the Bartlett Library is "Asian Cooking with Ying Stoller" on Thursday, March 24 at 7 p.m. Chef Ying Stoller will present a demonstration of Asian cooking along with a little history and geography. Seating is limited and registration is required.
