Rosary splits doubleheader with Sycamore

Rosary split a doubleheader against Sycamore Saturday, losing the opener 1-0 before bouncing back for a 6-0 victory in Game 2.

Emma Molenhouse was the tough-luck loser in Game 1 despite allowing only a first-inning run. The Royals (1-1) managed just 2 hits by Ries McCue and Kayleigh Lentz.

Rosary came alive for 8 hits in the second game led by a 3-for-4 day from Aubrey Fischer. Xandria Olsen and Natayla Flowers both scored 2 runs. Maura Vanborgaert earned the win.

ACC sweeps: Danielle Brown was 4-for-4 with a home run, double, 7 RBI, 5 runs scored for the day and was the winning pitcher in Game 1 as Aurora Central Catholic defeated Intrinsic Charter 13-3. The Chargers (3-1) completed the sweep with a 21-2 win in Game 2. Paige Miller picked up the win in the circle. Jessica Eallonardo also went 3-for-5 with a double and 5 RBI on the day for ACC.
