East Dundee house fire displaces 2 residents

A fire found in the kitchen of an East Dundee home displaced two residents Wednesday, fire officials said.

Shortly after 6 p.m., fire crews arrived at a one-story, single-family home in the 100 block of Kimberly Road to see smoke coming from the house, according to a news release from the East Dundee Fire Protection District.

The kitchen fire, which caused roughly $60,000 in damage, was extinguished quickly, officials said.

The Carpentersville and West Dundee fire departments assisted with the fire, as well as Rutland Dundee and Algonquin-Lake in the Hills fire protection districts.

Nobody was injured, officials said, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
