Elgin recognizes special efforts with Image Awards

Individuals, businesses and organizations that have had a positive impact on Elgin were recognized Thursday night at the city's 24th Image Awards ceremony at the Centre of Elgin's Heritage Ballroom.

Those recognized were: Collin Blount; the Elgin Garden Club; the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin's design committee; Mary Alice Masonic; the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin's Harvest Market; Jeffrey Pierce; Samuel Olson; Ron Meyer and Tim Meyer; Elgin Community College's culinary arts and hospitality program; Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Elgin Community College for its "Spartan Food Pantry;" Tanner Bednar; and Elgin History Museum and Grindstone Productions for "Project 2-3-1: Two boxcars. Three blocks. One city."
