St. Viator pitches past DePaul College Prep

Starter Kevin Napoleon teamed with relievers Cole Kmet and Shaun Falbo to help St. Viator's baseball team produce a 2-0 victory over DePaul College Prep in a nonconference season opener Tuesday.

The Lions' pitchers allowed just 3 hits and amassed 12 strikeouts - 6 by Napoleon, and 3 apiece for the relievers.

Falbo also had a nice day in the leadoff spot, going 3-for-3 and scoring a run for the hosts.

Cary-Grove 2, Palatine 1: The host Pirates scored in the first inning but not again in a nonconference loss against the visting Trojans.

Zach Oles and Brendan Walker had 2 hits apiece for Palatine (1-1), which had 7 singles but no extra-base hits.

Palatine starter Jack Trembley (3 IP) and reliever Ryan Anderson (4 IP) each allowed 1 earned run.
