Lindenhurst-Lake Villa Chamber to host SpringFest Expo

The Lindenhurst-Lake Villa Chamber of Commerce SpringFest Expo, set for March 19 and 20, will feature area businesses and will offer weather awareness programs by Lake County Emergency Management and SKYWARN.

The 13th annual expo will be at Lakes Community High School, 1000 Eagle Way in Lake Villa. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Admission is free.

"The Lindenhurst-Lake Villa Chamber of Commerce SpringFest Expo is open to the public and is a perfect place to spend a Saturday or Sunday," said Connie Meadie, the chamber's executive director.

"This year we are pleased to welcome Lake County Emergency Management, who will offer two seminars on storm spotting and weather preparedness."

Lake County is part of the National Weather Service program Weather Ready Nation, and there will be lots of information available of being weather ready at home and work. Show attendees will be able to register to win one of several Midland Weather Radios.

Attendees will be able to visit the newest displays and register to win prizes at various booths.

The "Kids' Zone" will be open all weekend and kids can meet Cha Cha from the RainForest Café, The Princesses, and Jason Kollum, stiltwalker. Kids will also be able to enjoy Busy Brains Interactive Children's Museum and the Bounce House and mechanical bull from Bella's Bouncies.

There will be raffles, prizes and information on home improvement, landscaping, health and fitness and more.

WLIP - AM's Jerry and Nick will broadcast LIVE from the show Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

As in years past, the Lake Villa Township Lions Club will hold its pancake breakfast Sunday, March 20, at SpringFest from 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets will be available at the door. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase Saturday in the cafeteria.
