Dogs get to join in Easter egg fun in Elk Grove Village

The Elk Grove Park District conducted its fifth annual Doggy Egg Hunt Saturday at the Al Hattendorf Center, 225 E. Elk Grove Blvd. in Elk Grove Village.

Plastic eggs filled with doggy treats are hidden all over the Al Hattendorf grounds. If your dog sniffs the egg, the dog gets to keep it.

In addition to the egg hunt, dogs also got a photo with their best friend and a chance to work out on an agility course. Dogs were kept leashed to avoid egg fights.

Dogs of all breeds weighing from more than a hundred pounds to a few pounds got their paws dirty as they used their noses to smell out dog treats in Easter eggs at the Al Hattendorf Center in Elk Grove Village on Saturday. This marked the fifth year for the event which teaches dog to be social with other dogs as well as people. Mark Welsh/mwelsh@dailyherald.com
