Trail users may experience delays through mid-April in St. Charles Township

Users of the Fox River Trail in St. Charles Township may experience delays or intermittent closures near Sunset Drive, March 14 through April 15, due to scheduled electrical work.

Intren, a contractor for ComEd, will be changing out power lines to a new configuration called Hendrix Cable. The cable is better suited to withstand storm conditions and tree limbs. The work will involve nine utility poles, or approximately 2,000 feet along the Fox River.

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County asks trail users to be mindful of the construction project, and that workers, vehicles and equipment will be on the trail in this area. Trail users may experience periodic closures. Signs will alert trail users to the project. During construction, contractor staff persons also will be on site to guide trail users around the equipment.
