Panelists Advise College Students about How to Land a Job

The Job Search Networking Group will host a panel of speakers who will address "How to Get a Job before You Graduate from College." Panelists will include College of Lake County career counselor Iris Seeley, PhD, and a recruiter from Northwestern Mutual. They will target this discussion to strategies and tips that will help job seekers successfully land jobs within a reasonable amount of time. The program will take place at Congregation Or Shalom, 21 Hawthorn Parkway in Vernon Hills, starting at 7 p.m.

Open to anyone who is under- or unemployed, Or Shalom's Job Networking Group's monthly meetings feature speakers who can provide information to help hasten the process and ease the frustration. Learn to sharpen networking skills, learn about available resources and how to more effectively market one's skills. Meetings are held as a community service monthly on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. free of charge. RSVPs are strongly advised.

The next program will be on April 27 and will cover how to "Take Control of Your Job Search." It will feature one-on-one assistance with networking skills and resume reviews.
