Willows Eagle, Meg Stangel, Signs with Oakton Owls Volleyball Team

It was an exciting day for the Stangel Family on March 1st. Meg, the 4th of 6 children signed on to be a student-athlete at Oakton College. "Only a select few can navigate the rigors of being a strong student and competitive athlete - and have the desire and will to continue to the next level," said Athletic Director, Amy McMahon.

Oakton College Athletic Director, Bruce Oates and Volleyball Coach Vincent Miranda were on hand to celebrate. Meg's mom, Katie Stangel (a Willows Academy Alum), and McMahon were on hand to witness the signing on Tuesday night at The Willows Academy in Des Plaines, IL.

Meg will undoubtedly add to the character and competitiveness of Oakton Volleyball. She has great work ethics and unmatchable leadership characteristics on and off the court.

The Willows Academy is an all-girl Catholic school for girls in grade 6 - 12. With an average class size of 20 and an average ACT of 28, it's no surprise that 100% of our students go to college, usually their first choice.
