As we head toward the month of March, it means our local boys and girls high school basketball teams are winding up their season.
This week, our #TBT Gallery takes a look back at basketball in the 1970s, where the shorts were much shorter and the socks much taller and filled with bold stripes.
Basketball has been a popular sport at our high school and colleges since the early part of the 20th century. Nearly every national high school has a varsity basketball team.
Our gallery of photos show cheerleaders in their saddle shoes, boys with long hair and sideburns and the stands filled with fans. The clothes may change over the years but enthusiasm for the game never seems to go out of style.
