Schaumburg Township to Host Informational Public Meeting on ComEd's West Central Reliability Project

Township of Schaumburg officials will hold a public informational meeting from 10:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Feb. 27, to update the community on ComEd's proposed plan to install a new 138kV electric transmission line through Schaumburg Township along the south side of the I-390 corridor as part of its West Central Reliability Project.

The meeting will provide further information about the plan, the effects on township residents and the township's response to the West Central Reliability Project. The township will also discuss the effects on property values for those within a one-mile radius of the project.

Schaumburg Township is located at 1 Illinois Blvd., in Hoffman Estates.

Illinois Commerce Commission Accepting Public Comments

The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) regulates projects proposed by utilities in Illinois and must approve ComEd's plan for the West Central Reliability Project before construction may begin. The ICC is currently accepting public comments regarding ComEd's proposed plan.
