Serve City beach volleyball program debuting this summer across suburbs

Serve City Athletics, a youth sports organization based in Glen Ellyn, has announced it is launching a family-friendly new beach volleyball program this summer for girls and guys ages 11 to 16. The program will offer inexpensive seven-week training sessions at sand courts in Downers Grove, Winfield and Elgin starting June 13.

Serve City's beach sessions, instructed by beach-trained coaches, will hit the sand during the week of June 13 to 17 and run through the week of July 25 to 29. Serve City will also play host to cost-friendly junior beach doubles tournaments on June 17, July 8 and July 15 in Downers Grove.

Downers Grove is home to Serve City's largest beach venue. Classes will be offered for girls and guys ages 12 to 16 on three sand courts at McCollum Park on Monday to Thursday mornings. Girls and guys can also learn the world's fastest-growing sport at Oakwood Park in Winfield on Mondays and Wednesdays and Tuesdays and Thursdays between 4 and 7 p.m. Serve City will also offer weekday practices for girls 11 to 14 on the sand courts at Epworth Church in Elgin next door to Harvest Christian Academy.

Registration for Serve City's beach program has begun online. Families who register by March 15 will receive the super early bird price of $175 per session. A Serve City beach tournament jersey is included in the fee.
