Man wanted in Chicago area home invasion arrested in Mexico

CHICAGO (AP) - A man who was wanted in connection with a 2014 suburban Chicago home invasion has been captured in Mexico and returned to the United States.

In a news release, the Cook County Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Steve Chung was arrested by Mexican immigration officials and the FBI this week in Guadalajara and flown back to Chicago on Thursday. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Chung is accused of taking part in a home invasion in Wheeling in which the victim was held at gunpoint and beaten. An arrest warrant was issued last June and the sheriff department learned last month that Chung was in Mexico, where he was teaching English online.

Cook County law enforcement contacted the FBI and the FBI and Mexican authorities captured him.
