Lindenhurst Park District Senior Club celebrates Valentine's Day

For 15 seniors from Lindenhurst and Lake Villa, Friday was Valentine's Day.

Seniors at the Lindenhurst Park District enjoyed a potluck luncheon and games related to love and Valentine's Day, such as guessing how many candy hearts are in a jar and a "name that love song" contest.

"It's a nice group of people; we all have fun. We're like a big family," said Marylu Rossow of Lake Villa.

The Lindenhurst senior group started in 1998.

"It's a great group. There are a lot who are regulars," said Leader Renee Matzelaar.

Seniors have other programs at the park district too - they can take aerobics three times a week, play Mah Jongg and cards, join a coffee club and take field trips.

The senior club's next party will be a St. Patrick's Day breakfast at 9 a.m. March 4.
