Nonprofit to host 'honest' conversation about marijuana

The Maine Community Youth Assistance Foundation is inviting parents and teens to have "An Honest Conversation About Marijuana" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Maine South High School library.

The discussion will focus on current research and include both the positive and negative attributes of marijuana, officials say.

The free event is open to all parents and teens in Maine Township High School District 207, middle school parents in districts 62, 63 and 64, and community residents.

The nonprofit organization advocates for the prevention of adolescent drug and alcohol abuse and promotes positive mental health for teens in Maine Township.

Maine South is located at 1111 S. Dee Road in Park Ridge.
