ArtPrize-winning piece to go on display in Indiana museum
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A sculpture that won $300,000 in the 2014 ArtPrize competition in Michigan will go on display next month at the Indiana State Museum.
The piece called Intersections by Anila Quayyum Agha, a professor at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, will be featured in an exhibit opening March 19 at the Indianapolis museum. The sculpture is a large cube that casts a lattice of light and shadow in the room it inhabits.
The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1We1emo ) reports the sculpture was on display at a Houston gallery last fall and is currently at the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts.
The sculpture won the ArtPrize competition's public vote prize of $200,000 and split a $200,000 jury prize.
