Relay For Life kickoff in Roselle

The Roselle, Bloomingdale, Itasca and Medinah Relay For Life will have an event next week to launch its 2016 fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Holiday Inn Express, 1490 W. Lake St., Roselle, the kickoff will feature inspirational speakers from the community who have benefited from funds raised at the relay as well as cancer survivors. Those who attend will be given the tools and necessary information to register a Relay For Life team or to become an event volunteer.

The Relay For Life challenges teams of participants to collect pledges for taking turns running and walking overnight. The event honors the memories of those lost to cancer as well as celebrating survivors and caregivers. Combined, Relay For Life events are the American Cancer Society's largest fundraiser.
