Police: Photo booth took picture of man committing theft

Batavia police used social media to help capture a man who stole from a photo booth and left his picture behind, police said.

In November, police say Chancellor J. Terrell, 24, formerly of Aurora, entered a photo booth at Funway Amusements in Batavia, pried open a cash drawer and took about $75 in cash, causing another $75 in damage to the machine.

The machine is designed to take pictures when it senses tampering to the cash drawer, police said.

Terrell turned himself into police Monday after police posted it on social media over the weekend. He's charged with criminal damage to property and theft.
