Give Chris Martin and Coldplay credit: It takes a certain lack of ego for musicians to essentially let themselves be upstaged at their own Super Bowl show.
The British band invited Beyonce and Bruno Mars to share the spotlight Sunday for the halftime extravaganza, which evolved into a 50th anniversary tribute to Super Bowl shows of yore. Both of the guest artists, with experience as headliners of their own on the year's biggest entertainment platform, pushed up the show's energy level.

After releasing a new song Saturday and performing Sunday at the Super Bowl, above, Beyoncé announced a stadium tour - one that includes a May 27 stop at Soldier Field. The Grammy-winning singer announced her 2016 Formation World Tour in a commercial after she performed at the halftime show with Bruno Mars and Coldplay. The tour will kick off April 27 in Miami. The tour wraps on July 31 in Brussels. Pre-sale tickets for American Express cardholders and Beyhive fan club members go on sale Tuesday; tickets for the general public will be available Feb. 16.
