We need a president with government experience

No individual has been president of the U.S.A. without having first served in one or more of the following capacities. They are: (1) Elected official at State or Federal level, (2) Cabinet level appointee, (3) Minimum rank of Brigadier General in the U.S. Military and/or recognized as a war hero.

I don't believe the United States is in such a "broken" or "crippled" state today that would necessitate electing a candidate who has no high-level government or top military experience.

America remains a powerful nation even as our two-decade or longer decline persists. There are still sectors of American society that have a world-class ranking.

Our confidence may be down, and many are pessimistic, but voting for someone who has never worked in government is a risk we don't yet need to take.

Let us stay with the 227-year-old tradition of choosing a president with the requisite government experience.
