Gurnee seeks Citizen Police Academy applicants

Gurnee is seeking participants for the spring Citizen Police Academy class beginning March 3 and ending May 26. The academy is a 36-hour block of instruction designed to give the public a working knowledge of the practices, policies and procedures governing the police department. The instruction will be in 12, three-hour blocks weekly. Classes will cover every facet of operations, including the hiring and training process, the 911 call center, investigations, patrol and more. Anyone interested in attending the free course can obtain an application by contacting Deputy Chief William Meyer at (847) 599-7050 or wmeyer@police.gurnee.il.us.
