Wolter Group acquires Ellis Systems

Wolter Group LLC said it has acquired Ellis Systems, a distributor of high density storage and shelving solutions based in Lake Forest.

Terms of the acquisition were not announced.

Ellis Systems will operate as a member of the automated material handling & storage sector of Brookfield, Wisconsin-based Wolter Group LLC.

Ellis Systems, founded in 1963 as a distributor of filing systems and equipment, has developed a reputation providing both space and cost-saving solutions to customers throughout the Midwest. Clients include health care facilities, schools and universities, police departments, law firms, and industrial warehousing.

Innovative space saving solutions, such as mobile shelving systems, vertical lift modules, vertical carousels, and rotary files have benefited thousands of customers to improve productivity, inventory control, and operator safety, while reducing floor space constraints.

"As our eighth acquisition in the last five years, Ellis Systems enhances our product offerings and solutions in the Illinois market and allows us to expand into the rapidly evolving automated material management & storage industry." said Jerry Weidmann, President of Wolter Group LLC.

Ellis Systems staff of seven, including owner Tom Hynes, value the opportunity to offer more to customers through their affiliation with the Wolter Group of companies.
